A character concept for an end boss who is blind, with super sensitive hearing.
The first stage was to sketch out each angle of the character I wanted to cover in my concept design. To do this I used photoshop with a Wacom drawing tablet.

The next stage was inking my sketches in new layers above the sketch layers.

The final stage was colouring my character with new layers and hiding the sketch layers.

This was my first time using photoshop and the first time in 10 years I had used a drawing tablet. I used layers quite effectively in this piece, making it easy to switch between the sketch, inking and painting. I think to improve I should remove the black outlines from my drawings and focus more on how shadow and light creates the forms and shapes.
